Playtex Diaper Genie Complete
On an average, a baby requires 2000 diapers in a year. Moreover, you will be disposing of diapers for over 2 years. For this reason, every parent would prefer a diaper disposing system that keeps away the strong smell of the diaper. Playtex Diaper Genie Complete does a great job of locking away the odors allowing you to breathe fresh air in your home.
Odor Lock System:
The pail contains a built-in odor controlling antimicrobial and double-air tight clamps to help seal in odors. Capturing the odors that try to get through the pail is covered too. There is a carbon filter at the top of the bin to help capture smells that try to sneak out. I guess this is what makes the odor locking system a “complete” system. It really helps to keep our nursery and home odor free from the pungent smell of the diapers.
Everyone loves trashcans with foot pedals. The diaper pail comes with a foot pedal, which I admire. It saves my time and efforts of washing hands every time I use the pail. Being busy carrying and handling the baby several times a day you would expect the diaper pail to have a foot pedal. No more touching of the trashcan lid and washing hands or using sanitizers. Even while you are carrying your baby in one hand you can easily dispose of the diaper in the pail using the foot pedal. There is no need to even touch the pail. At the same time, you do not have to bend to toss the diaper into the pail. This is because the diaper pail is just the right height for easily tossing the diaper without the need to bend.
Ease of changing the trash bag:
The diaper pail comes with a front tilt bin. It allows you to easily change the trash bag. All you have to do is to pull the full bag through the built in cutter and tie a knot at the end. You don’t even need to pull the pail away from the wall. The Diaper Genie Complete also comes with 7 refill trash bags. 3 packs of bags can last about 6 weeks.
On an average, a baby requires 8 to 12 diapers per day. I change my baby’s diaper every 3 hours and dispose of 9-10 diapers a day. The Diaper Genie Complete can hold up to 270 diapers. This is a good amount of diaper holding capacity and you might not need to replace the bag for weeks. I guess the large capacity is provided as the replacement bags and carbon filters are little expensive. However, there are cheaper replacement liners that you can find online or in stores that fit and work just as well as the Diaper Genie’s bags. Using such bags as an alternative can save you money in the long run.
Because of its slim design the diaper pail fits nicely in a corner without being an obstruction in a room.

Value for money:
Some of you may have doubts of investing $34 into a diaper pail. But as far as my experience with this product goes it’s a value for money. Although, it is priced much more than a normal trashcan or bin the features provided in the diaper pail makes it worth its price. Once you start using it you will realize that you made a right decision. Moreover, over the years you will find that this was a good investment for keeping yourself away from odors for so long.
The Playtex Diaper Genie Complete comes in five colors – blue, pink, green, gray and white. You can choose any of these colors that complements the decor of your nursery theme.
The only downside I found with this product is that the replacement bags and the carbon filter are little expensive.
When I was looking for reviews on this product I came across many reviews, which said that this is a #1 brand in diaper disposal. And after using it I now know why? I can trust the Diaper Genie Complete to perform its designated job of locking the odor very well. Foot pedal allows for easy, hygienic, hands-free opening. Has a good amount of diaper storing capacity yet fits in a small corner of the room. The front tilt along with the cut and tie design makes it easy to replace the bags. The Genie Complete comes in multiple colors to complement your nursery theme. I am happy with this diaper pail and would recommend it to all the parents. If you have second thoughts about buying it just look at it as an investment for a long term and you would not regret adding it as a must have to your baby registry.
